Description & Care:

The Alocasia 'Frydek' have narrow, arrowhead-shaped, green, velvety leaves with white veins! The juvenile leaves may appear as bright lime-green and the pale leaf stems have a purplish jagged banding which adds to its intricacy and makes for a unique houseplant. They can be harder to care for plants and requires the right environment to thrive. They thrive in warm climates with lots of humidity and are very sensitive to the cold. 

Light: It will thrive and be its happiest in bright indirect light! 

Water: Keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering by allowing the top inch or two of soil to dry between waterings. 

Temperature: 65-75F, closer to 85F to avoid dormancy in the winter. They are very sensitive to the cold!

Humidity: High

Feeding: Fertilize during active growth which typically occurs during the spring and summer months

Propagation: propagate from corms found in the soil when repotting

Common Pests: Look out for spider mites - alocasia plants are known to get spider mites

Toxicity: Can be toxic to humans and pets
