Take the guesswork out of re-potting plants with this special hand-mixed, soilless potting medium. It’s perfect for almost all houseplants!

* The base of this potting mix is coco coir, a renewable source. It does NOT contain non-renewable peat moss. *

One bag fills approximately:

4-inch pots: 7-8

6-inch pots: 2

8-inch pot: 1

This organic, chunky potting mix stimulates growth and is well draining yet retains moisture so there is no need to water more frequently! Watering too frequently may still result in root rot so allow the root system a chance to breathe between waterings.

What makes my hand-mixed soilless potting medium different? It contains NO soil and includes some of my favorite additives for a nice, chunky mix that is good for almost all houseplants!

Coco coir - holds water and is a sustainable resource that can be used as an alternative to peat moss.

❌ Peat moss is not sustainable. It is important to me that I do not use it or contribute to the problem that is peat moss. Peatlands store a third of the world’s soil carbon and the harvesting and use releases carbon dioxide. As we know, carbon dioxide is the major greenhouse gas driving climate change. Additionally, peat can take centuries to grow back when it’s mined; it is extremely slow. Peat moss may be good for your plants, but it’s not good for the environment. It can be difficult to find quality soil that does not contain any peat moss so I decided to start making my own potting mix.

Earthworm Castings - organic fertilizer that’s rich in nutrients. It’s safe for all plants and difficult to overdo which means there’s no risk of burning those roots like chemical fertilizers can. If you use fertilizers in addition to the earthworm castings, we suggest opting for natural fertilizers.

Orchid Bark - provides drainage yet retains moisture

Perlite - a natural occurring mineral in the form of amorphous volcanic glass that aerates soil, promotes root growth, prevents compactions, and overall improves soil structure. My potting mix contains both small and large, chunky pieces of perlite for optimal aeration.

Horticultural Charcoal - filters out impurities

Mycorrhizal Fungi - form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, helping them obtain micro and macronutrients and water more efficiently. It establishes a healthy organic environment where plants share nutrients like magnesium, phosphorus, water, sugars, and more. Overall, it can help reduce transplant shock and lead to improved plant growth by encouraging healthier and denser root systems

Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth Powder - made of the naturally occuring fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of algae that forms in freshwater. These remains are ground up into a soft, fine white powder. It’s chemical free and safe to use as a non-toxic way to control pests since the powder is sharp and dehydrating upon dry contact
